CareerSource Palm Beach County Launches Professional Placement Network
“The new Professional Placement Network is a fantastic resource for professionals seeking employment services and for employers seeking top level talent,” Steve Craig said, the president and chief executive officer of CareerSource Palm Beach County, the non-profit organization chartered by the state to lead workforce development in Palm Beach County.
As the economy improves and the labor market tightens, employers have reported that it is increasingly challenging for them to find high quality managerial candidates. To mitigate this challenge, the Professional Placement Network (PPN) provides specialized services for managerial to executive-level professionals who are transitioning careers, have been displaced, or are looking for new career growth opportunities.
The program is designed to assist individuals holding a 4-year degree with at least three years of managerial experience and $47,000 minimum annual salary. The PPN links career-seeking professionals with opportunities for networking and skills assessments along with no-cost workshops for resume development, effective social media techniques, job interview skills and more. Workshops will be conducted once a month at the Central Career Center in West Palm Beach.
The PPN staff works closely with the CareerSource Business Services team to identify the executive hiring needs and requirements of area employers in collaboration with local businesses, professional associations and economic development organizations.
Professionals who qualify to participate in the PPN can find more information and register online at http://www.careersourcepbc.com/job-seekers/professional-placement-network. Workshops are held at the Central Career Center – 3400 Belvedere Road, West Palm Beach, FL 33406.
CareerSource Palm Beach County and the PPN are part of a statewide network that maintains a qualified pool of skilled and talented candidates to help fill managerial to executive-level positions in all industries. During the past five program years, CareerSource Palm Beach County assisted more than 92,000 residents find employment ranging from entry level to executive suite, with salaries from these jobs creating $2.1 billion in annual average wages. CareerSource also has awarded $13 million in grants to area businesses and employees for training and educational assistance during that time.
